Greetings,
You have been granted access to the Securing the Cities website which is located at:
http://www.houstonstc.org or http://houstonstc.org or houstonstc.org
If you already have access to the STC website, no further action is necessary. This email is intended for new operators only.
The site has two sides to it. The public side is accessible to anyone and has some information about the radiological detection program as well as some resources that would be useful to the public. The private side of the site is for first responders who are involved in the counter-terror role of radiological/nuclear detection.
Officers, to access the private side, go to the heading “Operators Only”.
There will be a sign-on window. For the first time using the site, use the window on the right:
- Select “Forgot Password”
- Enter your email address that you gave at the PRD course (should be your work address)
- A link will be emailed to you enabling you to create a password
- Return to the site and log in to the “Operators Only” portal
- Check “Remember me” and you will not need to log in with credentials from that device anymore
Within the Operators side, we have numerous sources of information on radiation, rules & regulations, and a section with some good intel from the New York Counter-Terror group who publishes a CBRNE letter weekly on current events. We have a section that contains owner manuals and quick starts (which are the same as those you received with the equipment).
We also have a section for reporting radiological alarms. For most officers, this will be a PRD alarm. The Primary Screening entry form is a short form that provides statistical information regarding the region’s activity and would be important in criminal prosecutions. Primary Screening forms can also be narrated to our office voice mail system by calling 832-393-0916.
We appreciate your involvement in this regional program and look forward to future interactions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at STC@houstontx.gov or call the office at 832-393-0938.
